Safeguarding Workshop Online at 1pm - 2.15pm - MS Teams

Safeguarding Workshops are run continuously throughout the year face to face and online. Every volunteer, regardless of role, is expected to attend a safeguarding workshop at least every three years. The Diocesan Safeguarding Officer guides attendees through the background, principles, importance and the practicalities of safeguarding and what it looks like in practice in a parish or catholic entity setting.

Under the Catholic Church National Safeguarding Guidelines, it is a requirement that every Church volunteer and minister has a clear understanding of what is expected of them in their roles, who they report to and what safeguarding provisions are involved.  Volunteers in ministries that involve children, and/or vulnerable adults are required to be police vetted every three years by the diocese.​
